Ho Ho Ho, Who Wouldn't Go

Lucy, that's who.
On the way to The Galleria we discussed all the things she would say to Santa. How she keeps Hayes from "danger things" and how she would like "candy and toys in her room in her big girl house". Most importantly she was going to show Hayes how easy it is to sit on Santa's lap.

Well all I can say is nope, nope, and never gonna happen, my friend. We did get a picture of Hayes with Santa and Lucy got a candy corn (candy cane), so all was not lost.
Just picture Lucy smiling sweetly next to Hayes. That's what I'll have to do...for the next 20 years. Bitter, party of one. Moving on!

The following are some pictures from our North Pole Breakfast. Pinky, our elf, brought the kids Christmas jams and hats. We ate blizzard waffles, drank hot cocoa and read the Elf on the Shelf.
The table set for the next morning. The Elf likes to plan ahead.

The "Graham Cracker"

Last night we went to see The Nutcracker performed by the Houston Repertoire Ballet at Tomball High School. Fancy had given her the book so she would know the story in advance. This was important, because, as we explained to her there would be no talking during the performance. And there was indeed no talking...by any of the performers. Thank goodness this was a low key performance intended for children because Lucy talked in her special "whisper" voice throughout the ballet. Between that and her cousin Alana literally dancing in the aisle, we were a site to see. Overall I think the girls first ballet was a big success. They stayed in the theatre the whole time, ran up and down the aisle at intermission, ate some snacks, got an ornament and loved the beautiful dresses. Lucy may even have a future in reviewing ballets. I will leave you with her summary of the performance as told to her Uncle Cody.

"I saw the beautiful princess but then the boy broke her Graham Cracker and then they danced and then the man fixed it. "

Well said, Lucy.Well said.

Bring it back now, y'all

After much hemming and hawing, the blog is back. Let's be honest, my last attempt wasn't that great and I have been a little nervous about starting her up again. But I am going to throw caution to the wind and give it a go!

And with that, let's take an oath.

On my honor, I will try:
To stay motivated and bring the funny,
To include current pictures and flashbacks from the last few years,
And to update regularly, according to Blogger Law.

A special thanks to Molly Gage for inspiring me to "bring it back now, y'all". You can visit her at cantfitintomymommygenes.wordpress.com.
